Dickensons Property Lawyers is a friendly, family-run firm specialising in conveyancing. The firm prides itself on being able to offer a personal service to clients to assist them through the sale and purchase of their home, which many clients consider a stressful process.
The proprietor, George Dickenson, first set up in practice as a Solicitor in January 1981. He is still trading from the same premises on Museum Street. Mr Dickenson converted the practice to a Licensed Conveyancers practice in 2010; the reduced overheads in running a Licensed Conveyancers practice allows for reduced conveyancing fees.
Mr Dickenson was born and educated in Warrington and has lived in Warrington all his life. He is well known in amateur football in the town and has played in the Warrington Sunday League for over 40 years, and when younger he also played for 15 years for the Saturday football league. It is believed that he holds the all-time record for goals scored in amateur football in the Warrington area (over 1,000 goals) and also the all-time record for the most games played. He is proud of his record of “having never been sent off” and has only received one booking in 50 years of playing the game. He is also a big rugby league fan and has been a season ticket holder for over 50 years at Warrington Wolves.
Dickensons Property Lawyers has always been a family run business, his wife Lesley having worked with him since the firm's inception. Today, George and Lesley's son Christopher works in the reception, having joined the firm in 2009.
The office is supported by George's Legal Assistants Michelle Harrison and Jill Silver (both having worked in the legal sector since leaving school). Michelle has worked at several large firms before joining in 2013, while Jill started work at Dickensons as a Junior Secretary and worked her way up to trainee Licensed Conveyancer before leaving in 2010 when Dickensons reopened as Licensed Conveyancers. We are pleased that she re-joined the firm in 2016. We are joined by Ellie Harrison in reception, who began work at Dickensons in 2021, and the office is completed by cashier Sandra Gearing.
